“Even the best-laid plans can go awry” and it is necessary to identify a back-up plan in your Exchange Host Plan.
Identifying alternate activities is essential for those inevitable times when the elements put a damper on your plans or even when you get the sense that a certain activity is not fitting the needs of the group that particular morning or afternoon.
It is our experience that even confirmed bookings can fall through at the last minute and it will save you a lot of stress if you have a good alternate activity idea ready.
Make sure that you have a variety of options at your disposal and that you are still able to make those key links to your learning objectives.
Please note that, when reviewing every group’s Host Plan, the YMCA is expecting to see adequate Alternate activities listed.
